Cheers to the 70s n 80s babies!!!

Hey… Got this from a forwarded email… Really brings back the memories….

Signs that you are a 70s’ or 80s’ baby:
You grew up watching G-Force, He-man, Transformers, Thundercats, Silver
Hawk, Woody Woodpecker, Chipmunks and Mickey Mouse. Not to forget Ninja urtles, Mask, Smurfs and Voltron too.

Girls watched Japanese cartoon like My Little Pony, “Xiao Tian Tian”, “Hua Xian Zi” etc.

You grew up brushing your teeth with a mug in primary school after recess time.

You squatted by a drain with all your classmates beside you, and brushed your teeth with a colourful mug.

Remember the days when the school nurse, comes with a list for the dentist appointment, the sound of the drilling when your friend has a fill in his tooth.

You remember the packets of milk we get in primary school to encourage us to drink more milk. (It cost only 30 cent per pack)

In secondary school, girls go to the library to borrow their favourite romance storybook.

In secondary school, girls altered their school skirt to shorten it and guys will go to the school appointed school uniform tailor shop to tailor make their school trousers to the then
fashionable “baggy pants”!

During primary school days, the teacher will punish you using a ruler to hit your palm.

A bowl of noodles soup cost only 30cent in primary school days.

When you were in primary school, girls like to go to the bookshop to buy cute stuff such as animal erasers, various shape sharpeners, colourful notebook etc.

Hankyu Jaya, Yaohan departmental stores used to be a favourite hangout for families dur! ing weekends.

In secondary school days, you buy the Bata BM Turbo or Pallas Jazz school shoes.
Some guys like to wear those china made ankle high shoes. Some even like to wear those very thick socks with their school shoes.

Internet? E-mail? What the hell is that?

So you thought a decade or more ago, your friends don’t have pagers or handphones in school.

CDs? What’s that? Cassette tapes were the norm.
Movie tickets used to cost less than $5 last time.

The goodies from Mama shop used to be Chickerdis, Mamee , Kum Kum, UFO,
O-Ya, Ding Dang chocolate balls with toys in the box, colourful hard “egg”, “cigerette” bubble gum, KIKI Bubble Gum, pink bottle of bubbles c/w a small tubes with yellow sticks to blow “more lasting” bubbles that you can pop more air in or slam it on.

You never forget ‘Ti Kam’.
When exams are over, the board games (e.g Monopoly, Donkey, Transportation
Comparison Card) & held video games will be all over the class room.

Your favourite sound is the bell
For it’s the homemade ice cream man.
The cream that tops Haagan Dazs!

And the other peddler you love is the old lady who sells juicy Muah Chee and thick olden syrup rolled in a balloon the tip of a chopstick

Another bell is the recess bell, a time to get away from school work and to eat.

Another time when there is no bell but all guys will anxiously wait for it…The PJ (Pendidikan Jasmani), PE time (time for football)

Your favourite childhood games were playing “guli”(marbles) , five stones, five bottle cover, zero-point, catching, “Pepsi-Cola one two three” and/or “Police & Sentry”!

The best thirst quencher of all times is the yummy colourful ice tubes you can buy from provision shops for only 10cent. To eat them, break the tab and suck while holding the freezing tube!

All gals have a girl doll/strawberry shortcake/my little pony/pound puppy, while all boys have a soldiers figurine (combat) or a rubber band catapult that shoots folded paper!

Once was the era whereby ice-cream sticks were valuable items, then came the paper aircrafts, chalk fights.

Some boys made their own guns from wood, and used ‘Bacali’ as the bullets.

Some even used matches to shoot and burn kids’lanterns during MoonCake Festival.

And your favourite holiday was Lunar New Year! New clothes, Ang Pows, shopping, junk food and family outings!

Let’s see, the majority of students in universities today were born in 1987 / 88…. They are called “youth”.

For them, they have never heard of the song “We are the World, we are the Children…” And the “Uptown Girl” they know is by ‘West Life’ but not ‘Billy Joel’.

For them, there have always been only one Germany and only one Vietnam.
AIDS exists since they were born.

CD exists since they were born.

Michael Jackson is already whitened.

John Travolta is always round in shape and they can’t imagine how this fat guy could be a god of dance.

They believe that Spiderman and Incredible Hulk are just new films.

They can never imagine a black and white screen for a computer.

They never know what is Atari or ‘Game & Watch’.

They can’t believe a black and white television ever existed and they don’t even know how to switch on a TV without a remote control.

And they never understand how we can go out without a mobile phone when we were in university.. .

Let’s check if we’re getting old…

1. You understand what was written above and you smile.

2. Most of your secondary school friends are getting married.

3. You are always surprised to see small children playing comfortably with computer.

4. When you see teenagers with mobile phones, you shake your head.

5. You spend less and less time talking on phone with your friends daily.

6. When you meet your old friends from time to time, talking about the good old days, repeating again and again all funny stories you experienced together.

7. Lastly, having read this mail, you are thinking of forwarding it to some other old friends. You think they will like it too…..

Brings back old memories huh?

Cheers to the 70s n 80s babies!!!

the one with the picnic

Well… well a very-very tiring yet fun and exciting weekend was store for us… anyway before i start mumbling about the great weekend we had i would like to wish all a merry christmas !! ho ho ho !i spent friday night at mmu as lan’s in law went to visit kak el and him for the weekend….

Sabtu tuh pegi servis kenari hun and then after that we went up to OU to jln2 and tgk movie… hun also did some window shopping as she was trying to find a new shoes for her…
Cadalera was the movie of our choice as the movie we opted for- Night At The Museum was sold out. Cite hantu thailand yg boleh buatkan anda terkejut and rasa seram dan suspen yg agak sangat hhehehe tapi unfortunately for us cite tuh jadi mengkonpiuskan nearing to the end… before balik we stopped at Giant, Puchong to buy things for Sunday’s Picnic.

Actually the picnic was planned on Monday as hun’s office mate invited us to join but then on friday night our MMU buddies ajak ke tempat yg sama but it’s on Sunday, so we decided not to turn both of the invitation down and we decided to went on Sunday. Hun’s officemates pon agree to follow us on that day.. The place was Sungai Gabai in Hulu Langat. Hun officemates went there on their own , we ( us and our mmu buddies ) meet up at Kajang on the morning and the shoot straight to Sg Gabai. On the way we stopped at a shop before the bridge leading to Gabai to buy gas tanks (for the stove) to cook our lunch.

hun with rizal , as , aishah and din

sejuknyee air !!!

me with rizal and as

us at sg gabai

As we reach Gabai (after a short hiking) we notice the place was quite packed as it was Sunday , school holiday and the next day - Monday was a public holiday ( Christmas). Gabai was nice and the water was soooo icy cold.. hehehe macam nak tak nak mandi je at first…. hun was pulled by me in the water and then baru la dia nak mandi… benda yg paling best dekat Gabai was the nature made slide. Batu sungai dijadikan slide sbb licin.. mcm kat sunway lagoon pulak dah .. siap beratur nak tunggu turn… tak tau la berapa kali kiteorang naik benda tuh… best gile… Lunch was prepared by Din and Aishah…menu untuk lunch was drummet , ikan sardin ( kiteorang bawak ) , hot dog and nasik ( As and Rizal ) , sedap ooo !!! lapa punya pasal licin abes kitorang sental… then i cooked meggi pulak… itu pon laku .. abes ngan kuah2 pon licin hehehehe..We went back around 6 and stopped for a while at seksyen15 mamak in Bangi for dinner as semua dah penat gle..

chef for the day - din and kuteng

tunjuk skill masak meggi

amek gamba b4 nak balik..

On monday pulak we went to Ikea to do some shopping… hehehehehe beli benda nak bawak balik for our mom’s sbb nak balik Raya Haji… for ourself pon kiteorang beli gak.. a big red box untuk letak barang , hun beli dua and i bought one.. rm3 each , actually the price was rm9.90 but we bought it at As Is ( tempat brg reject in Ikea) tuh sbb dapat murah hehehehhe
On the way back we stopped at Juso Balakong ( just opened ) hun at last got her new pair of shoes and kitorang beli cake secret recipe. We had our dinner at Teras Jernang. Kenyang gile.. ikan kembong bakar dia sedap aaa tapi a bit pricey la… hehehehhe

the one with the car wash

hehehhe yesterday tak keje yahuuuu… actually semalam hujan n unfortunately for my technician he could not come early because of rain and fortunately for me sbb dah tunggu lama sangat so i balik la ! hehehehe went to lepak with my bro, lan at burger king mutiara damansara dulu and then pick up hun for lunch dekat the mines.. b4 balik shah alam sempat la singgah mmu lepak2 kejap…

yesterday jugak since puasa hari tuh is the first time i basuh kembara (malas betui budak sorang nie kan ) actually niat nak basuh tuh mmg ade tapi lately nie hujan kan so cam rugi lak hanta pegi basuh.. so i bought a big bottel of car wash at giant with hun and then walllah my kembara is shiny again ! heheheheh lawak gak masa beli car wash tuh sbb masa nak amek benda tuh the tag shows the price was rm4.99 but masa scan kat kaunter jadi rm7 something… hehehe ape lagi hun siap sound cashier tuh hehehehhe sian gak tgk budak tuh g ulang alik tgk price benda tuh.. hun pon pg tgk jugak incase ktorang salah tgk.. lastly she called her supervisor kot and we got special discount hehhehe wallla first time tuh..

last saturday we went to see cicakman with the rascals… sepatutnya nak buat review nie dulu tapi sbb cerita eragon tuh best kan.. terpaksa la ditangguhkan kejap… i was really impressed with the cgi.. it was gempak la to see a fully malaysian made film with that good cgi.. credits to Yusry KRU the director… apart from that cicakman was ‘biasa’ je the story line was not there and sometimes the story makes you feel quite boring… the comedy pon actually kadang2 tak jadi… quite surprisingly as selalunye apek will make you laugh… the movie did managed to attract the crowd as the hall was full mostly with families bringing their kids to watch malaysian 1st superhero… plus it’s now school holiday sommore kan… rasanye boleh sampai juta gak cicakman nie… this is my comments on the characters …

cicakman/ hairie - saiful apek was ok but i think the costume should be more gempak the
cicakman logo was nicely done.

danny - yusry as like he was in other film gets the girl.. simple character je kalau takde cicakman dia leh jadi hero kot.. died at the end in pursuit of saving cicakman

tania - fasha mistakenly taught danny was cicakman … kesian dia sampai abes
cerita pon tak tau hairie tuh cicakman yang sebenarnya

prof klon - aznil character nie kejenye gelak je… dari awal sampai abes gelak je…
lepas tuh tak nampak cam jahat sangat pon…

ginger boys - ac and adlin aman ramli played this part , a copy cat of the matrix .. ape
tah nama tak ingat lak characternye…

metrofulus - superbly done…

anyway to you all kalau nak tgk.. i got nothing against this movie ( i grew up admiring kru and still) cause i think Yusry is just not a good movie director , he;s more to the technical stuff ( proven with the good cgi )tgk la nanti leh cakap i watch malaysian first super hero kat cinema..hehehehhee

ps … soup n sandwich smlm sedap aaaa kan lan…

Keep Holding On (OST Eragon)- Avril Lavigne

Keep Holding On

You’re not alone
Together we stand
I’ll be by your side
You know I’ll take your hand
When it gets cold
And it feels like the end
There’s no place to go
You know I won’t give in
No, I won’t give in

Keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through
Just stay strong
Cause you know I’m here for you
I’m here for you
There’s nothing you can say
Nothing you can do
There’s no other way when it comes to the truth
So, keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through

So far away
I wish you were here
Before it’s too late
This could all disappear
Before the door’s closed
And it comes to an end
With you by my side
I will fight and defend
I’ll fight and defend, yeah, yeah

Keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through
Just stay strong
Cause you know I’m here for you
I’m here for you
There’s nothing you can say
Nothing you can do
There’s no other way when it comes to the truth
So, keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through

Hear me when I say
When I say I believe.
Nothing’s gonna change
Nothing’s gonna change destiny
Whatever’s meant to be
Will work out perfectly
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
La da da da, la da da da
La da da da da da da da da

Keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through
Just stay strong
Cause you know I’m here for you
I’m here for you
There’s nothing you can say
Nothing you can do
There’s no other way when it comes to the truth
So, keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through

Ahh, ahh
Keep holding on
Ahh, ahh
Keep holding on
There’s nothing you can say
Nothing you can do
There’s no other way when it comes to the truth
So, keep holding on
Cause you know we’ll make it through
We’ll make it through

the one with the busy sunday morning…

Yesterday we went to Cineleisure Damansara to watch Eragon , it’s our first time there and the place was quite nice. Actually hun did booked the movie earlier on Friday but we didn’t manage to get their on time. Sunday morning was quite hectic as we went to potong rambut ( loves hun’s short hair now.. nampak cantik ) , buy present and went to Niza’s sis wedding ( Niza is hun’s office mate ) at Putrajaya. The makan-makan at the kenduri was quite nice as my favorite ayam madu was being served… macam rugi gak tak tambah hehehehehe..hun pun gelakkan me hehehe lapar tapi malu… hahahahah pity me…anyway thanks to Niza for inviting us (her new bro in law is from taiping hehehehe taiping rocksss dude! )

Arrived at Cineleisure around 4 ( after i terrely managed to escape the jam .. hehehe ade ke word terrely??? lantak la… ) nak try dapatkan tiket kol 445 tapi masa queuing up tuh dah abes… so we setteled for the 525 show and got the back seat… before the movie we went to Ikea jalan2 and makan meatball ! Sedap ooooo ! Also we did stopped at a few shops at the flea market , the curve.. hun window shopping kejap hehehehe… best jugak flea market dia

Eragon was good .. seronok tgk naga and the lawan2 scene. The evil creatures also was nicely done… it reminds me of LOTR. Macam bawak kat dunia fantasy… heheheh best dan seronok ooooo Can’t wait for the next one.. heheheheh worth watching this movie even though tak macam lord of the rings yg lama gle (eragon nie dalam 2 jam je) to those who haven’t watch it .. i suggest you go… seriusly tak rugi… PERHATIAN INI BUKAN FREE PROMO TAPI CITE NIE MMG OK.

lepas movie we went to eat at Villageview Bangi.. had kueh teow goreng , hun had sup cendawan and we ordered ayam pandan just out of curiosity prior to our previous makan2 there…because the last time we went there hun tanye ape benda … i answered ayam pandan but tak pernah makan so yesterday kiteorang try la tapi tak sedap hehehehe hun makan sket je coz the planta cooked with the chicken buat rasa muak.. hehehe tak sedap pon yours truly ni abes kan jugak la semua.

Hmm before i forget Arsenal drew with Portsmouth 2-2 , we was trailing 2-0 at a stage of the game but the players fought bravely to get a draw !!! wheee the confidence is back .. now just for a win and i guess then we’ll be firing on all cylinders ! Come on Arsenal !

Anyway smlm i did had a great conversation with hun.. about future la… nak explain rasanya tak yah la.. hehehehe… i love you so much sayang ! muahhhhssss

Arsenal 1 Wigan 0

Arsenal 1
Adebayor 88
Wigan 0

It took us 88mins to brake a tough Wigan side with an Adebayor goal from a superb defense splitting pass by Fabregas to seal the 3 points. It was a very nervy game for the travelling gunners as Arsenal was 2nd to Wigan in every department through out the game.

Actually i was predicting a bore draw until the Fabregas pass. Felt really sleppy because the game was at 330 in the morning and there was actually no good action to keep my eyes totally awake.Wenger rested Cesc , Persie and Hleb for the game. In was Baptista and Walcott . Baptista was a’ok and golden boy Walcott did made some good runs to at least worry the Wigan defense. Gilberto continue to lead the team with the absence of Henry. Toure was back and djourou, with his solid performance against Chelsea was played instead of Sanderos.

The first half was a bore one as Arsenal didn’t manage to get any shot on target. As Cesc came in the game got more livelier and then the goal was there. It was really a relived for all Arsenal fans as this win is a much needed win to bring the confidence back to the team and futhermore keep Arsenal on track.

Portsmouth travelling to the Emirates this weekend.. another tough game ahead..

COME ON ARSENAL !

Cinta

“Isteri bukanlah hakmilik tetapi anugerah”
(something for hun… love you busuk!)

Nicely saidkan … heheheh actually i don’t want to say much about the story line but for me it’s a very good try from Khabir Bahtia even though you can see clearly some elements of Love Actually and 50 First Dates ( Dato Rahim Razali scene) in the movie. What attract me most in the film itself is the camera shot of the film which shows KL in a nice way ( see the movie and you’ll know what im talking here) and the music score which was great , its rarely hard to find a malay movie with a nice music score… credits to Pacai. The Pantun song from Zainal Abidin really kicks the movie off with cheerful and happy feeling at the begining and from time to time it plays with your emotions with the songs that was selected. The movie did manage to attract ppl to see it at the cinema , i guess not because of the stars but the marketing strategy which was really well planned. I haven’t seen a malay movie got so much hype and promotions as Cinta… and the idea of teaming up with Media Prima really done them good as you can see the crowd watching the movie.Anyway for me Cinta is a really different breed of malay movie… and it’s really ’sebuah kisah tentang kasih’… can’t wait to see Cicakman this weekend !

the one with the leave

weekend was fantastic and cool !! that sums it all !!!

i took leave yesterday sbb wanna lepak2 with hun….smlm sepatutnye mmg cuti sultan selangor bday but my office tak cuti lak…the office is actually in selangor but it follows kl so yesterday mmg tak cuti but i cuti sendiri…hehehhe was flat out with the activity during the weekend n skang nie pon masih flat lagi… ikut hati nak je lepak kat rumah bermalas-malasan…tapi takpe la kat office nie pon tak byk keje sangat… nie pon duk lepak je tapi tak leh la nak baring2 mcm kat rumah…

the entrance fee was rm33 for adult and rm23 for kids….kinda expensive compared to the actual which was rm10 cheaper… the catch was the extra rm10 was for set lunch ( they call it water world lunch combo ) tapi the bad thing was takde tiket untuk entrance je… kinda jahat rite ??? tapi nak buat camne… its bizzz world… heheheheh

anyway the park was quite ok and i did enjoyed my time there..here are some reviews about the slides and park…

slides

the tube slide - best gle can’t remember how many time hun n i went down it….
the big slide - heck actually i forgot the name.. it’s a big tube …have to sit on it when it slides down… nice
the body slide - not recommended for the faint hearted. believe me your heart will come out of your body when you go down this one…

pools

wave pool - nice but kinda fully with all the peeps… but it’s the most happening place there as they also play some cool music there…( when waves are coming the siren will be sounded , i know this after a few times i heard the siren sound heheheh )
kids pool - lots of kids… the two did enjoyed their time here…

set lunch

set 1 - chicken rice
set 2 - curry chicken rice
set 3 - sizzling mee

we ordered 2 set 1 , 2 set 3 and 1 set2.. what we got was 1 set3 , 1 set2 and 5 set1 heheheheh 2 extra and untung rm20 hahahha… see !!! you win some you loose some ! heheheh anyway the food was nice… value lah for the rm10 they charged but for us lagi best sbb dapat extra 2 !!!

before we got back sempat lah pusing2 melaka.. tapi plan asalnye untuk amek gamba kat tmpt2 bersejarah terpaksa dibatalkan sbb banda hilir penuh gler…. we had our dinner at anw @ rnr jejantas ayer keroh
